BlockMark
More and more people are choosing to install a perimeter type layout to take advantage of as much horizontal space a small room has to offer. One solution for the problem of bringing the train down from multiple layers of track is to use a Helix Zone. A Helix Zone is pretty much what is sounds like. It is a helix or corkscrew shaped series of turns that allow the train to go from one level to another by way of a series of controlled ramps and angles.
Know for their problematic personality (too many sections of curves and connections cause derailments), several buyers asked for a system that not only sensed occupation for Block Signals, but also the added feature of a location/level indicator LED.
We have addressed this by adding the BlockMark board to our list of products offered.
The BlockMark is an add-on LED driver that connects to the LINK plug on the MultiSense or CurrentSense (segment defining) board and sends the power to illuminate a LED on a control panel either at the helix location or at a central panel elsewhere in the layout.
This will give a physical display of all levels occupied by the train while in the helix.
You can also use this to indicate on a control panel that a train is in a tunnel, hidden yard, or somewhere else that you can't easily see.
This board is 1.3" x .7"
