Block Signal Light Controller

Current Version

The current version is more "connector compatible" with the other modules of the Automatic Block Signal System.

What does the Signal Light Controller do?

Once energized, the Block Signal Light Controller has THREE functions:

This is accomplished by interconnecting the Block Signal Controllers using the NEXT and PRIOR / PREVIOUS connections.

When installed correctly, ALL Block Signal Controllers will be interconnected.

You can also use local devices to change a signal's color in ALL cases except when the block is occupied and the RED SIGNAL is displayed.

If you have a turnout (switch track) and want to change the signal for the block containing that turnout to yellow when it is "thrown" away from the normal route, you can use the internal switch on the turnout to connect a system ground to the YI connection on the Block Signal Light Controller. This will set the signal to yellow whenever the switch is thrown toward the spur or siding. If that block becomes occupied, even when the switch is "thrown", the Block Signal will always change to RED until it is no longer occupied. If the block BEFORE that block becomes occupied, the signal will REMAIN YELLOW (instead of GREEN) as long as the turnout is not in the normal position.
